The next version will be released some time late this month. The program started out quite buggy, but believe me, it's gotten a lot better. The developer is quite serious about improving this program with every single thing he tweaks, and he cares a lot for his customers. could you shed some light on that? For the record, I don't have my recording computer connected online, ever. I don't know what an un-firewalled VST is. Still haven't had it crash hardly at all since version 2.3. RC has given some strange interpretations with a multitude of chords changing during the bar, unlike what's really going on in the song. EZKeys is also better at interpreting the chord progression of the imported midi. But alas, you can import midi into the tracks, but you can't transfer one or two bars from there into the phrase editor. To that end it would be nice if you could import the midi for some great songs and use the piano/organ patterns in your own songs.

I would mainly want this software for producing piano or organ tracks. That said and owning Rapid Composer LE, I am still not impressed. I agree that the videos, particularly the second one, show what RC can do. Far as I know, you've been able to do this since version 1.8. just double-click the phrase: the phrase editor opens, and you can save from there (near the bottom of the screen). To answer your question, you should absolutely be able to save phrases from the composition (even imported/changed MIDI) to a folder or the phrase browser. cut up, change chords.Īnd Harmony Navigator too (although more difficult). apply the JS midi plugins and move stuff around and voila, again. you could simply import a MIDI file into a Reaper track that has your favorite piano VST (such as a Bach Chorale or whatever), and transpose it in seconds, voila. :)Ĭhris (RC user / friend of MusicDevelopments) it is one of the only (and best) things of its kind.

Just wait til you guys see version 2.3, and the new Generator type. I haven't used it in years and especially after he ignored me. I honestly got a 'holier than thou' attitude from him, which is what turned me off Cognitone products for life.Īlso, I was one of the first people to buy Harmony Navigator when it was released ($130 USD at the time). And when I was more active on their forum, he'd ignore everything I asked, but the customers would help. There were emails I sent to Andre that went unanswered completely (about 10 emails). I have a Beta of 2.3 currently, with a new (insanely useful) tool in it. it has become FAR more stable than version 1 and any versions even several months back.
